On Dec 19, 2009 My nephew Mike Racine was involved in a freak snowmobile accident.
After falling off the back, he broke his lower part of his neck. He has been recuperating at the SPALDING CENTER located in Boston.
After this even in our life, it has compelled everyone that knows Mike to reach out and let everyone know how life if too precious to let go by unseen.
Our family has learned so much about things that we take for granted. (Eating and moving about, Ect…)
While at the Instatute, Mike had a good friend bring his uncle down to meet him, John Rackley.
What the family didn’t know at the time was John Rackley was the designer and builder behind the renowned Renegade wheelchair. John after becoming paralyzed himself years earlier, wanted to get out and go hunting and fishing once again.
After buying a 10 speed bike for his daughter, he got the Idea to build himself a wheelchair to get out back of his house. What became an idea has lead to a new designed chair that is fully capable to go off road easily.
His knowledge of hunting has lead him to be on TV shows all around the country, where he hunts and fishes from his new chair.
If I had to brag about some one that has changed people’s lives, John would be the first one to come to mind. He is down to earth and grounded in every way, just one of the Boys.
His meeting with Mike changed all of our lives, showing us that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.
Please take the time to look at the YouTube videos and web page that John has made over the years.
It really is amazing. http://www.renegadewheelchairs.com/about.htm
